The Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly as of April 2024 has generated an amount of GH¢1,282,558.00 representing 42.92 percent of its annual Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Arthur the Municipal Chief Executive said the Assembly estimated an annual revenue mobilization of GH¢2,988,020.00 as IGF for this year.
Speaking at the first ordinary meeting of the first session of the fourth Assembly, he said they had taken pragmatic steps at generating the needed revenue for its operations.
He said despite that it was unfortunate that the performance of some revenue collectors had not been encouraging.
“To this end, I have directed a reshuffle while additional hands are being brought on board to help improve collection.”
Mr Arthur said: “In addition to this, I have personally, together with Management, been involved in the collection exercise.
We hope to do more to shore up our IGF for the much-needed development.”
The MCE urged the Assembly members to also assist the revenue mobilisation to be able to collect more revenue for the development of the municipality.
He also urged the market women, traders to pay their taxes to enable the Assembly to continue development projects to uplift the face of the municipality.
