Kade Fire Service Tender crashes while responding to emergency

The Kade Fire Service Station fire tender was involved in an accident while responding to an emergency in the Kwaebibirem District of the Eastern region. 

 
The fire department received an emergency call at approximately 08:37 hours on Sunday morning, reporting a petrol truck that had drifted off the road at Otwenkwanta.

  
The cause of the crash is unknown, however, preliminary examinations suggest a steering lock problem.

 
Following the crash, seven firefighters are undergoing medical treatment at St. Dominic Catholic Hospital in Akwatia and Kade Government Hospital. 

 
The fire engine, with registration number FS 438, was carrying eight people at the time of the tragedy, but one person managed to escape the incident without injury. 

 
Five team members were evacuated to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia, while the driver and duty officer were taken to Kade Government Hospital.

 
ACFO Jennifer Naa Yarley Quaye, Commander of the Eastern Regional Fire Service, who visited both hospitals and the accident scene, said all staff were in stable condition and responding positively to treatment.
