The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has generously donated a brand new ambulance to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

This significant event took place at the GFA’s Technical Centre, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, on Monday, August 27, 2024.

The fully equipped ambulance will now be stationed at the Technical Centre, to provide emergency support to facility users, players, officials, and staff.

The donation aims to enhance the emergency healthcare services available at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

This facility serves as the camping base for the country’s various national teams, and the new ambulance is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of everyone involved.

By augmenting the existing healthcare services, the ambulance will contribute significantly to improving health delivery at the centre.

This initiative stems from a partnership between the GFA and the Ghana Health Service, which operates under the Ministry of Health.

The collaboration highlights the importance of health and safety in sports, ensuring that athletes and staff receive prompt medical attention when needed.

The presence of the ambulance at the Technical Centre underscores the commitment of both organisations to the welfare of the sports community.

“We are extremely grateful to them for their immense support.

The ambulance will be put to good use and serve its purpose for football here in Prampram,” said Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku.

The new ambulance is expected to be a valuable asset, enhancing the safety standards at the facility.

The donation ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the General Secretary Prosper Harrison-Addo, Vice President Mark Addo, Members of the Executive Council, and Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Wisdom Kobena Woyome.

Their presence underscored the significance of the event and the collaborative efforts aimed at promoting health and safety in Ghanaian football.
