The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat has announced a potential breakthrough for Ghanaian students studying abroad, with the anticipated release of 50 million cedis.

This follows reports of hardships faced by the students due to unpaid stipends and tuition fees.

The Head of International at the Secretariat, Richard Gyamfi who revealed this, said reports from the Scholarship Secretariat indicate that the Ministry of Finance has released some funds, although the amount falls short of the total funds needed.

He added that the Secretariat has worked on all the necessary paperwork to ensure the funds are transferred to the Ghana International Bank, which will then facilitate payments through the Ghanaian Embassy.

Mr. Gyamfi emphasized that the Secretariat has been proactive in addressing the issue, holding numerous meetings with international partners and taking unconventional steps to secure the funds.
