Founder and Leader of the Life Assembly Worship, the leader of  Ghana Union Movement, Reverend Christian Kwame Andrews, known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has pledged to safeguard Ghana’s natural resources if he is elected president.

In an interview with Maltiti Sadiya Sadick on GTV breakfast show on October 8, 2024, Rev. Andrews bemoaned the state of the water bodies in Ghana due to the galamsey menace. He expressed shock at how degraded the water bodies that Ghana once boasted off are looking.

According to him, it is absolutely wrong for non Ghanaians to be involved in illicit mining activities in the country. He therefore vowed to make sure no foreign national living in the country gets involved in galamsey when he is elected Ghana’s next president.

“ Any foreigner who is listening to me, put it down that if I come to power I’m never allowing any foreigner to mine in this country” he stated.

He criticized leaders for mismanaging resources and vowed to prioritize citizens’ interests.

“If our leaders continue to be like this, we are not supporting that anymore, how can we just give them chance to rule our lives and destroy our youth” he added

Rev. Christian proposed restricting timber exportation by overpricing it.

In his bid to protect the natural resources from over exploitation as stated in his manifesto, the outspoken political leader expressed that, his government will place restriction on the exportation of timber and its related products by overpricing it.

“ There will be no exportation of timber, if anyone wants a timber or a wood it will be free there will not be any hindrance”, he added.
