Dr. Agnes Adu, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL), has called on Ghanaians to support local industries by prioritizing made-in-Ghana products.

Speaking at the opening of the 2024 Accra Grand Sale at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, she emphasized that such patronage would enhance economic growth and sustainability, making locally manufactured goods more competitive both domestically and internationally.

The Accra Grand Sale, part of an annual trade bazaar organized by GTFCL, aims to create exposure and opportunities for Ghanaian businesses across the country.

Dr Adu reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to promoting locally made products to connect Ghanaian producers with the global market and highlighted ongoing efforts to redevelop the Trade Fair Centre.

Madam Dorothy Amoah, Head of Marketing at the Ghana Standards Authority, assured the public that measures would be in place to prioritize customer safety across all products showcased at the Grand Sale.

Exhibitors at the event also urged the government to reduce import duties on raw materials essential for production, emphasizing the need for affordable inputs to strengthen local manufacturing.

The Accra Grand Sale, running from September 30 to November 3, 2024, aims to boost the local economy by highlighting the vibrancy and uniqueness of Ghanaian products.
