Mr Tassah Mustapha Tassah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Akan Constituency in the Oti Region, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the constituents for their suppport even though he did not win.
A letter entitled “Thank You”, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), reads “Our pursuit of the Akan constituency parliamentary seat has fallen short of expectation”.
“The good people of Akan preferred someone else at this time.
Congratulations to Hon. Yao Gomado on your election.”
“The journey remains forward………Thank you Akan Constituency.”
The Private Legal Practitioner commended his supporters, volunteers, and donors for their tireless efforts, enthusiasm and generosity that inspired him every day to keep pushing forward.
Mr Tassah said he was honoured to have had that opportunity with the support of the constituents along the way.
He recognised the hardwork and dedication of his campaign team; adding that their expertise, creativity, and passion were invaluable to their campaign.
The former NPP candidate said he would continue to work towards creating positive change and fighting for a better future for the constituents.
During the Saturday, December 7 parliamentary election, Mr Tassah polled 11, 772 valid votes as against 18,228 garnered by Yao Gomado, the National Democratic Congress candidate, while Mary Yawa Aforla, of the Liberal Party of Ghana secured 175 votes.
Total valid votes were 30,175, total rejected was 376 and total votes cast was 30,551.
