Kadjebi Assembly hands over 900 desks to District Education Directorate

The Kadjebi District Assembly in the Oti Region, has handed over 500 dual and 400 mono desks to the District Directorate of Education for distribution to needy schools in the district.


The desks were procured from the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) Seven Fund of the Assembly.


Handing over the desks to Mr. Seth Seyram Deh, the District Director of Education, Mr. Charles Nyame Kormisah, the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly asked the Director of Education to make sure that deprived and deserving schools get the furniture.


Mr Kormisah, who did the presentation on behalf of the Kadjebi District Chief Executive, Mr. Wilson Kwami Agbanyo, said the desks were meant to help students stay organised and focused, encouraged active learning and engagement and promotes good study habit.


Mr Kormisah, also the Headmaster of Ntruboman Senior High School, Brewaniase, called on stakeholders in the education sector to help improve the standard of education in the district.


He said education empowers individuals and communities, breaks the cycle of poverty and benefits society, so there was the need to support it.


Mr Deh, on receiving the desks, thanked the District Assembly for the desks.


He said the desks would be distributed equally and that the needy schools would be given priority attention.
