The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service has begun investigations into the fatal fire incident that claimed the lives of four people at Gyinyase, near Atonsu, in the Asokwa Municipality.
 Â
The fire said to have started in the early hours of Saturday, February 08, 2025, claimed the lives of a mother and her three children in a three-bedroom house at Gyinyase.Â
Â
The victims, identified as Linda Kusi, a nurse at the Kumasi South Government Hospital, and her three children aged between seven and 14 years, were trapped inside their room in the building.
 Â
Despite efforts from neighbours to rescue them, the intensity of the flames made access impossible.
 Â
Firefighters, who arrived at the scene after being alerted, managed to extinguish the blaze, but the victims were found burnt beyond recognition.Â
Â
Three other occupants of the house were rescued and are currently receiving treatment at the Kumasi South Hospital.
 Â
The Police later transported the remains of the victims to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for preservation, while investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. Â
