Nartey, Sedinam crowned 2025 AATWE Women’s Day Tennis Competition winners

Bridget Nartey, Ghana’s number one wheelchair tennis player, and Linda Sedinam emerged victorious of the 2025 Advantage All Tennis Women’s Empowerment (AATWE)competition held at the Accra Tennis Club.
The competition which was held as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, was designed to equip ladies with skills and knowledge needed to succeed in tennis.
Speaking to the media, Hajia Zenabu Suleman, expressed her excitement about the event saying it has come to stay.
She said, “this is the first time for us to bring together both able and disable women to show their skills, talent and network.
“As a former player I have learned a lot in the sports and always want to offload my knowledge to impact others for the development of the society, to see them grow up to become better than me.”
Salamatu Alhassan, Former Northern Regional NSA Boss, commended the organiser and said the programme would serve as a roadmap to the development of sports in the country.
She said, “I’m very happy that Hajia was able to combine both able and disable to come together to show case their talent.
“I think it is about time we the former sports personalities start sharing our knowledge in our own for the younger generation to benefit from us.”
Miss Nartey also thanked the organisers for the programme and called on other disabled ladies to join the sport.
She said, “as today marks International Women’s Day I would like to encourage my fellow athletes like disabled female to celebrate with us and to join us in the sporting industry.
“I am pleading with our government, individuals, cooperate entities among others to sponsors disable sports especial the female.”
