A 30-year-old labourer who attacked a resident at Ohwimase in the Kwadaso Municipality in an attempt to rob him has been remanded into prison custody by the Nkawie circuit court.

Seidu Mohammed was said to have attacked his victim with a cutlass and a toy gun at midnight on September 03, this year in an attempt to steal.

He was, however, overpowered by the complainant and together with some neighbours, he was arrested and handed over to a police patrol team in the area.

Seidu would reappear before the court presided by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey on September 23, this year.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Sylvanus Dalmeida told the court that the suspect forcibly entered the complainant’s room with the cutlass and a toy gun.

He said the complainant, who was a Tiller, mustered courage and held the hands of the suspect and in the ensuing struggle some neighbours in the house woke up and assisted the complainant to arrest him.

He was handed over to the police patrol team.

DSP Dalmeida said the suspect admitted the offence in his caution statement and was therefore charged and brought before the court.
