At the 4th edition of the 2022 Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) awards, which were hosted in Accra on Friday, FBNBank received the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award.

The HESS award is intended to recognize and honor excellent businesses for their remarkable efforts and innovative approaches to occupational health, safety, security, and the environment (HSSE).

The “Plan-Do-Check-Act” cycle, which embodies the traditional approach, is also meant to encourage the adoption of best practices in HSSE management systems.

The theme for this year’s awards was “Recognizing outstanding achievements and celebrating business excellence and innovation focused on occupational health, safety, security and environment.”

Commenting on the award, SemiuLamidi, said, “over the years, FBNBank has through the Bank’s actions and the efforts of its staff demonstrated that it is all about putting others first, be it business or community activities.

We have done these by supporting causes which resonate with our brand and appeal to our people. Activities like supporting a home for deprived children, providing for the education of young persons, providing equipment for the Police, contributing to the Ghana Black Stars fundraising effort, committing to the fights against polio and cancer in children and helping young people define clear career paths are some of what we do in our communities.

FBNBank’s responsibility as a corporate citizen goes further to include how we do our business and how we contribute to the development of the economy of Ghana. All these have been a sharp reflection of what we are and what our brand stands for. This award, therefore, is confirmation of how committed we are to this effort.”

The FBNBank Ghana brand has over the years engaged in a sustained campaign to deliver benefits to its community, people and the economy through programmes and initiatives in Community Support. In the last three years, the Bank has through the annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRaS) Week celebrations heightened its contributions and commitments particularly in the area of people empowerment where together with the staff, it has made contributions to several causes in health and education.

FBNBank has in its 26 years of operating in Ghana remained focused on putting its customers and communities first. This, it has sought to do through the rich value and excellence of what the Bank contributes to the relationship with its stakeholders as a whole, particularly the customers. FBNBank Ghana is a member of the First Bank of Nigeria Limited Group which is renowned for its great customer service and general stakeholder engagement garnered over its 128 years of operation. FBNBank Ghana has 22 branches and two agencies across the country with almost 500 staff and offers universal banking services to individuals and businesses in Ghana.
