Mr. Sulley Sambian, the Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), has visited Nakpanduri Business Senior High School (NBSHS) to assure authorities and students of their readiness to renovate the school’s dormitory, which was destroyed by a fire outbreak. Additionally, he pledged the completion of ongoing classroom block projects at the school in the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri District of the North East Region.

During his visit, Mr. Sambian inspected development projects initiated and completed in the region under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme. He was accompanied by officials from the NDA and joined by Mr. Joseph Louknaan, the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri District Chief Executive.

The fire outbreak occurred on June 12, resulting in the complete destruction of part of the roof, beds, mattresses, walls, floor, and students’ belongings such as food items, money, and books. The affected students were temporarily relocated to a classroom while the dormitory was being repaired.

Mr. Sambian encouraged the students, particularly those in their final year, to focus on their studies and not dwell on their losses. Mr. Louknaam reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the school’s infrastructure to enhance academic activities.

The Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration at NBSHS, Mr. Simon Kofi Salifu, appealed for assistance for the students who lost all their belongings. He expressed gratitude to the NDA for promptly responding to the school’s challenges.
