The investigation into the Ablekuma Fan milk bullion van robbery continues to yield results as the Ghana Police Service announces the arrest of two more suspects over the weekend. Following the earlier apprehension of Benjamin Ojogbe and Rashid Abdul, these new suspects have now been remanded in custody by a Kaneshie District Court. The charges brought against them include conspiracy to commit murder and murder in connection with the tragic incident that led to the death of Lance Corporal Calyptus Amoah.

The disturbing events unfolded on July 4, 2023, when Benjamin Ojogbe and Rashid Abdul were initially remanded by the same court, preserving their pleas for further proceedings. The brazen robbery attempt occurred in June of the same year when unknown assailants shot and killed Lance Corporal Amoah during an attack on a bullion van at a fuel station in Ablekuma Fan milk. According to the Ghana Police Service, the suspects trailed the van and engaged in a shootout during the refilling at the fuel station. Lance Corporal Amoah, seated in the front passenger seat on security duty, fell victim to the assailants’ bullets at close range.

With the investigation progressing, the recent arrests of the additional suspects have brought the total number of apprehended individuals to four. The court has scheduled the next appearance for the two new suspects on August 3, 2023, while the nation awaits justice for the fallen officer and resolution in this high-profile case.
