Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, the Executive Director of Salt and Light Ministries, has emphasized the importance of collaboration among female leaders to achieve collective goals in their leadership journey. Speaking at the inaugural HD+ LeadHers Xperience event, which aims to empower female corporate leaders in various fields, she highlighted the ability of women to connect with people and urged them to prioritize collaboration to achieve success.
During her speech, Rev. Dr. Aryee advocated for leadership that fosters collaboration rather than competitiveness, stating that while competition exists, it is not necessary for success. She encouraged women to work together and foster open communication, even in male-dominated spaces, to win over others and achieve collective success.
Rev. Dr. Aryee further emphasized the importance of female leaders being generational-minded, paving the way for future generations of women to assume leadership roles in society. By empowering each other, women can remain relevant and make a lasting impact in their respective fields.
Madam Mercy Tagoe, former Head Coach of Ghana’s female football team, the Black Queens, also addressed the issue of bias in various fields, posing challenges for women in their leadership journey. She stressed the need for female leaders to adapt various leadership skills, including pretending that nothing is wrong at times and adopting a democratic approach.
The event featured other speakers who encouraged female participation in Ghanaian society, including Madam Adelaide-Abbiw-Williams, CEO of SES HD Plus Ghana; Madam Pan Macdonald, Chief People Officer at SES S.A; Valeri Labi, Co-Founder and CEO of Wahu; Dr. Lucy Agyepong, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Academic City University College; and Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq), Director of Services at Ghana Prisons Service.
The HD+ LeadHers Xperience event provided a platform for female corporate leaders to amplify and empower women in various fields, including Technology, Engineering, Sports, Government, Media, Security, and Education.
