The Northern Ghana Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church has recently inducted three new officers to lead the mission for the next five years. The elected officers include Pastor George Kossi Ekao Amouzou as President, Pastor Godfred Voberogo Goldan as Executive Secretary, and Elder Clement Puori Guri as Treasurer. These leaders were chosen during the Mission’s first quinquennial session held in Tamale, where they strategized on measures to enhance the area’s growth and development.

The quinquennial session, which took place from July 27 to July 30, centered on the theme “I will go be His Witness.” In addition to electing new executives, the session involved receiving reports from various churches under the Mission. During the induction ceremony in Tamale, Pastor Edward Nyarkoh, Executive Secretary of Northern Ghana Union Conference, emphasized the importance of selflessness and blamelessness in their service to God and humanity. He encouraged the new officers to rely on God for a successful tenure of office.

Pastor Professor Daniel Opoku Boateng, former Vice President of West and Central Africa Division of the SDA Church, led a prayer for God’s guidance and direction over the new leadership. He advised them to demonstrate diligence in their responsibilities. The newly inducted President, Pastor George Kossi Ekao Amouzou, expressed his administration’s commitment to building positive relationships with various religious groups in the region, fostering peace and tolerance. He acknowledged the SDA Church’s longstanding presence in the Northern Region and their reputation for positive interactions with diverse groups.

The event also included the recognition of 25 church members for their unwavering commitment and dedication to the growth and development of the church. Furthermore, an Executive Committee has been elected to supervise and evaluate the work of the newly appointed officers, ensuring effective governance and progress in the mission’s endeavors.
