Akatsi All Stars Football Team Seeks New Talent in Upcoming Recruitment Drive

Akatsi All Stars, a prominent first-division football team based in Akatsi, has exciting plans in the pipeline as they prepare for the upcoming football season. The club recently announced a three-day football activity, titled “Justify your inclusion,” scheduled to take place from August 4 to 6. The primary objective of this event is to identify and recruit new players to enhance the current squad, forming a formidable team for the upcoming season.

Mr. Prosper Dorkenoo, the Assistant Coach of the club, shared that the games would be held at the Aheto Sports Stadium, situated on the Akatsi College of Education campus in Akatsi. During these matches, the team’s scouting members will closely observe the participants’ performances, aiming to select talented players between the ages of 17 to 20. The ultimate goal is to secure a spot in the premier league for the forthcoming season.

Mr. Dorkenoo extended his gratitude to Mr. Francis Moari, the Head Coach, and the entire technical team for their significant roles in sustaining the team in the Division One league. Additionally, he praised Mr. Bernard Ahiafor, the Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, Solomon Adotevi, the Team’s Chairman, Mr. Peter Gatsi, the Manager, and all the team’s supporters for their unwavering support.

Having secured a place in the national Division One league after emerging victorious in the Volta Division Two finals in 2022, Akatsi All Stars showcased commendable performance in the 2022-2023 Division One Zone Three league season. With 40 points from 30 matches, they scored 35 goals while conceding 34. The team achieved 10 wins, 10 losses, and 10 draws, ultimately securing the 7th position. Looking ahead, Akatsi All Stars will be joined by newly promoted sides, Home Stars FC, Volta Rangers, and Hohoe United FC, in Division One Zone-Three from the region, promising an exciting and competitive football season.
