Mr. Ocloo Mawuli Egos, a parliamentary candidate aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Akatsi South, has pledged to revitalize the party’s presence in the region ahead of the 2024 general election. His goal is to inject energy and experience into the parliamentary front, fostering a sense of unity and collective victory within the party.

After picking his nomination form at the party’s constituency office in Akatsi, Mr. Ocloo emphasized his years of dedicated service to the NPP in various capacities, including serving as Constituency Secretary and strengthening the party’s foundation to stand strong against the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

As the current Akatsi South Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation, Mr. Ocloo envisions a more vibrant youth front that encourages collaboration between the younger generation and the elderly, working together towards a shared agenda.

He stressed the importance of conducting the internal race with dignity and urged both his supporters and other contenders to uphold decency in their political expressions. Two aspirants, including Mr. Martin Kofitsey Nyahe, have already joined the race, with the primary expected to take place between September and December.

The winner of the primaries will face off against the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, in the 2024 general election. Mr. Ocloo’s aspiration to unite and strengthen the NPP’s presence in Akatsi South signals an active and competitive political landscape in the region.
