Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), would embark on a three-day tour of the Oti Region on Saturday October 26.
The tour, which includes a connect rally at Tokuroano, a farming community in the Krachi East constituency, is expected to fortify Dr Bawumia’s campaign momentum, building on recent engagements in the Volta Region and other parts of the country.
His tour would cover various constituencies, which include Krachi East, Krachi Nchumuru and Krachi West on the first day of his visit.
The tour would continue to Nkwanta North, Nkwanta South and Akan constituencies on the second day, and Buem, Guan and Biakoye constituencies on the third day.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated that, Dr Bawumia was expected to engage with traditional leaders, constituents and share his vision and policies for Ghana’s development.
It said some of the key policy areas Dr Bawumia would be focusing on included diversifying the economy, contributing to private sector growth and creating jobs.
In the area of human capital development, Dr Bawumia aimed at enhancing Ghana’s digital infrastructure and assisting technological Innovation, advancing transparency, accountability and anti-corruption measures.
With agriculture modernisation, he was poised to transform agriculture through mechaniation, irrigation and value addition, the statement said.
The statement said Dr Bawumia’s upcoming tour of the Oti Region had given rise to eagerness with party flags and paraphernalia flying high on light poles at Tokuroano and across the region.
