Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey named in English Premier League ToTW

Following his superb performance for Brighton against Leeds, Tariq Lamptey, an English-born Ghanaian right-back, has been included in the English Premier League Team of Week 13.

Despite the goalless draw, the 21-year-old was named man of the match for his performance against Leeds.

He created five chances, the first Brighton player to do so in a single game.

He is joined by Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson as well as Chelsea’s Thiago Silva in defence.

Aston Villa duo John McGinn and Marvelous Nakamba join James Madison of Leicester in midfield.

Liecester City forward Jamie Vardy is flanked by Liverpool’s Diogo Jota and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

Lamptey, born in England to Ghanaian parents is eligible to play for the Black Stars despite represent the Three Lions at youth side.
