Dr Omane Boamah approved as Defence Minister by Parliament

Parliament has unanimously approved Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as the new Minister of Defence.

  
The approval came after a thorough vetting process by an 11-member Committee on Tuesday, January 28.

 
According to the ninth Committee report, “The Committee found the nominee competent, knowledgeable, and well-suited for his ministerial role.” 

 
This endorsement paved way for Dr Omane Boamah’s unanimous approval after a debate by Members of Parliament on the Floor of the House on Thursday.

 
Dr Omane Boamah’s appointment is part of President John Dramani Mahama’s cabinet aimed at strengthening the administration’s security and foreign policy teams.

His expertise and experience are expected to bring value to the Ministry of Defence.

 
With his approval, Dr Omane Boamah is set to play a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s defence policies and strategies.
