The Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Sefwi-Asawinso, operating under the Sefwi Presbytery, has extended a helping hand to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of the Asawinso M/A Junior High School ‘B’. The congregation’s meaningful gesture involves the donation of 42 mathematical sets to aid the candidates in their examination preparations.

Reverend Vincent Kpakpa, the Asawinso District Minister and Resident Minister of the Ebenezer Congregation, emphasized the church’s steadfast commitment to human development. He underscored the church’s conviction that proper education and tools are essential for individual growth and overall progress. The decision to provide mathematical sets to the BECE candidates is rooted in this belief, aiming to support their academic journey.

This act of benevolence is not new to the congregation. Over the years, the church has extended similar support to its members who have taken the BECE. Specifically, for the past three years, the church has consistently donated mathematical sets to BECE candidates at the Asawinso M/A Junior High School ‘B’.

Reverend Kpakpa encouraged the candidates not to be anxious, reminding them that their efforts are supported by a higher power. He advised against succumbing to examination malpractices and encouraged them to rely on the knowledge they have acquired, trusting that they will excel in their exams.

Mr. Thomas Afful, the Headteacher of Asawinso M/A Junior High School ‘B’, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the candidates. He highlighted the transformative impact of the church’s continuous support over the past three years, contributing to the school’s improved performance in the BECE. He emphasized the importance of mathematical sets during examinations and assured that the candidates would use the donated tools purposefully, ensuring that the congregation and the community are proud of their efforts.

Candidates, deeply appreciative of the church’s benevolence, expressed their gratitude for the timely support. They recognized the significance of having proper tools for their examinations and pledged to utilize the mathematical sets effectively, particularly during the upcoming BECE. The Ebenezer Congregation’s unwavering commitment to education and empowerment serves as a testament to their dedication to nurturing future generations of achievers.
