The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has addressed concerns raised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the release of the revised Provisional Voters Register (PVR).

In a statement signed by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, the EC reassured stakeholders that the revised PVR will be available within the stipulated two-week period.

The NDC claimed the EC promised to release the updated PVR within a week after an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting.

However, the EC clarified that its chairperson, Jean Mensa, stated during the televised IPAC meeting that the updated register would be available within two weeks or earlier.

The EC emphasized that Mensa never promised a one-week release, contrary to the NDC’s claims.

To clear up any misunderstandings, the EC provided an unedited video of Mensa’s closing remarks at the IPAC meeting, confirming the official timeline.

The Commission remains committed to transparency and timely release of the updated voters register ahead of the 2024 general elections.
