Richard Appiah, a footballer from Abesim in the Bono Region, is facing a chilling accusation of murdering two minors, Louis Agyeman and Stephen Sarpong. Shockingly, it is alleged that he kept their body parts in a refrigerator. The case has gained widespread attention and will be heading to trial at the High Court in Accra on August 16.

The Attorney General recommended charging Appiah with the murder of the two young victims, and after undergoing medical care for initial mental instability, he has been deemed fit to stand trial. The prosecution, led by State Attorney Nana Ama Adinkra, plans to present six witnesses and has already tendered autopsy reports, partially burnt clothes and slippers belonging to the minors, and photographs as evidence.

On the other hand, Mr. T.K. Dzimega, handling the case pro bono as the defense counsel, has announced that Appiah will be calling two witnesses from Abesim to support his case. The heinous crime has left the community in shock, and during the investigation, the police discovered some of the victims’ body parts and intestines on a farm. The young victims have been laid to rest, but justice remains a paramount concern as the trial unfolds.
