The Ghana Education Service (GES) has granted approval for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) Educational Unit to organize this year’s Education Week for all EPCG schools across the country. The weeklong event, scheduled to take place from August 20 to 27, aims to celebrate and promote education within the EPCG school community.

In an official letter titled “Permission to Organize EPCG Education Week 2023,” signed by Mr. Prince Charles Agyeman-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instructions Division of the GES, the approval was granted on behalf of the Director General. The letter was addressed to all Regional Directors of the GES and copied to various key stakeholders, including the Chairman of the GES Council and the General Manager of the EPCG Educational Unit in Ho.

Under the theme “Reaffirming the Role of Stakeholders in the Mission Schools, the Revival and Restoration of the Past Glory,” this year’s Education Week aims to emphasize the importance of collaboration and the collective responsibility of stakeholders in ensuring the success and revitalization of mission schools.

A series of engaging activities have been planned for the celebration, including the launching ceremony, debates, spelling competitions, drawing and painting contests, and cooking competitions. These activities will provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents and skills in various areas. Additionally, there will be a special talk focusing on the theme, sports and games activities, a professional development day for teachers, and a thanksgiving service to culminate the week-long celebration.

Mrs. Marian J. A. Adzroe, General Manager of EPCG Schools, expressed her excitement about the upcoming event and highlighted that the Education Week is an annual tradition on the Church’s calendar. She emphasized that the celebration serves as a platform to raise funds for the development and improvement of EPCG schools. Mrs. Adzroe called upon all pastors, educators, parents, and other stakeholders to join hands and contribute to the success of the Education Week.

With the approval from the Ghana Education Service, the EPCG Education Week is set to bring together the EPCG school community in a spirit of unity, collaboration, and celebration. The event not only highlights the important role of stakeholders in mission schools but also aims to restore and enhance the glory of these educational institutions. As the week unfolds, participants eagerly anticipate engaging in a wide range of activities and competitions that will showcase the talents and achievements of students while fostering a sense of pride and togetherness within the EPCG educational community.

The EPCG Educational Unit extends its gratitude to the Ghana Education Service for their support and wishes all participating schools a successful and impactful Education Week. Through this celebration, the EPCG schools continue to demonstrate their commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of learners in Ghana.
