Ghana Football Association Announces Friendly Match Against Mexico for Preparations Ahead of AFCON and FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the FIFA World Cup qualification matches, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has lined up an international friendly match with Mexico on Sunday, October 14 in the United States of America. 

 The GFA signed a contract with the Federation of Mexico Football and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) for a friendly match against the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup champions, Mexico. This forms part of the 20th anniversary of the MexTour

The game will enable Ghana’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in January next year.

The Black Stars of Ghana will also play the US National team at GEODIS Park in Nashville three days after to wrap their tour in the USA. 

According to the GFA, media accreditation for the match would be announced when the process commences.
