The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Takoradi, has presented a cheque for GH¢15,000 and some office furniture to the Western Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to aid in the refurbishment of its Press Centre.

Dr. Kingsley Antwi-Boasiako, the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, GPHA Takoradi, who presented the Cheque, said it was in response to an appeal made by the GJA to furnish the Press Centre and cement the cordial relations that had existed between the two entities over the period.

He said the Authority recognised the key role the media played in the socio-economic development of the Region and the country at large, hence the donation to support a worthy course.

Mr. Jerry Richmond Andoh, the Senior Marketing and Public Affairs Officer, GPHA Takoradi, thanked the Media for the education on their various outlets to sell the Port of Takoradi to the world and  pledged the Authority’s readiness to assist in putting the Press Centre in a good shape adding that, the Authority’s aim was to impact positively on its areas of operations and have good partnership with other stakeholders.

Madam Ewurama Smith, the Western Regional GJA Secretary expressed gratitude on behalf of the Association and commended the GPHA for the kind gesture, promising that the money and the furniture would be used for its intended purpose.
