Mr. Koku Anyidoho, the Founder of the Atta Mills Institute, has expressed his appreciation to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government for the remarkable redevelopment of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. During a recent tour of the park, Mr. Anyidoho expressed his delight, stating that he was “really impressed” with the transformation.
For over 25 years, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park had not seen any significant facelift, resulting in various issues such as malfunctioning fountains, leaking roofs at the museum, and a deplorable state of the VIP lounge and washrooms. However, the recent redevelopment has addressed these challenges, bringing a much-needed revitalization to the park, which serves as a tribute to Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Mr. Anyidoho, who championed the reconstruction of the Asomdwe Park, expressed how witnessing the deterioration of the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum motivated him to further advocate for the restoration of historical sites. He commended President Akufo-Addo and his administration for their efforts in honoring and remembering national heroes and promoting domestic tourism. Additionally, he urged the public to make good use of the park and maintain it for future generations to appreciate the legacy and achievements of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The redevelopment of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is not only a significant step in preserving history but also an essential contribution to promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and domestic tourism. Mr. Anyidoho’s gratitude reflects the collective appreciation for the efforts made in safeguarding the legacies of former presidents and national icons.
