The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken action against Dr. Mrs. Shine Agatha Ofori, the Headmistress of West African Senior High School (WASS), for her involvement in unauthorized money collection from students. The GES has interdicted her from her position with immediate effect.

In a press release signed by Madam Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations at GES, the decision was made to ensure transparency and accountability in the educational institution. The statement further specified that the interdicted headmistress is required to hand over the administration of the school to the Regional Director of Education pending the final resolution of the case by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.

The GES’s swift action aims to uphold integrity and protect the interests of the students and parents. It serves as a clear signal that any form of unauthorized money collection or financial misconduct within the educational system will not be tolerated.

The case will be thoroughly investigated by the Regional Disciplinary Committee, and appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings. The GES is committed to promoting a conducive learning environment that upholds ethical standards and supports the overall development of students in Ghana.
