A traditional ruler has lauded Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin for his taste for traditional cloth, as the nation marks the heritage month.
According to Oboa-Aman Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II, the Krontrihene (sub-chief) of the Sunyani, Mr Bagbin ought to be singled out for praise for promoting and helping to preserve the diverse Ghanaian culture and tradition.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani Oboa-Aman Boa-Amponsen II urged the Members of Parliament (MPs) to pick inspiration from the Speaker’s “traditional way of dressing”, saying his traditional way of dressing reflected the identity of Ghanaians.
He said dressing or putting up either the locally made Kente clothes, smock or local fabrics not only promote culture and tradition but also boost the growth and development of the industry.
“In fact, Speaker Bagbin portrays that he is an indigenous Ghanaian, and his dressing alone makes him distinct”, Oboa-Aman Boa-Amponsem II indicated, saying promoting culture and tradition strengthen one’s national identity.
