Ho Airport finally commences commercial flights

The construction of the airport in the Volta Region capital began in 2015 during the tenure of John Dramani Mahama and completed in 2017 under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

But its commissioning was officially done after Africa World Airlines (AWA) launched its Accra-bound flight from the airport.

The Ho Airport in the Volta Region has seen the maiden landing of an aircraft on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

The historic landing happened to be of an Africa World Airlines test flight which was to make pave way for commercial operations of the airport.

The first landing was witnessed by loads of people including the chiefs and other citizens of Ho and its environs.

There was much excitement among those present as the crew and passengers exchanged pleasantries with the welcome party
