Mawulorm Klutse, the Independent Parliamentary candidate for Ho Central Constituency has called on the electorate to consider an alternative political representation in parliament apart from the two dominant parties.

He said the duopoly of political party representation, for decades failed to result in the sought aspirations of the people, and that voters should endorse the rise of independent candidates.

Mr. Klutse, who among three seeking to contest in the coming elections, made the call when he submitted nomination forms to Electoral Commission’s office in Ho on Tuesday to.

He said the Constituency deserved a shot at viable independent representation, and that he possessed the commitment and dedication to development.

Mr. Klutse said: “We mean business. We believe that after 67 years of having confidence in the two political setups we have in our country, we also need to experience something different – Leadership that cares about the people, can represent the people, and bring development to them.

“So, we are serious, we are ready to get on the ballot and go all the way, down to the wire.

“The two parties have been doing their bit, but we have only voted in the same way especially in our constituency for all these years, and we should have something different.”

Speaking on chances in a region that stands as the stronghold of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Klutse said the present state of the constituency left much to desired, and that he would pursue leadership that would arrest the challenges.

He said: “A careful assessment and data collected over the period proves that the political parties that have led us have not done justice to the jobs of the people and their development.

The Independent Candidate broke into the political scene on March 06, 2024, when he made public his bid to represent the regional capital.

Mr. Klutse spoke of growing acceptance among the youth of the Constituency, and said it lit up his path to victory.

He said: “Campaign has been awesome.

We will say that this has been a win for the young people in this constituency, because since the inception of our campaign, we believe that we have touched lots of communities – close to 95, and the responses have been very positive.

“Most importantly, we believe that our youth would endorse the need for change in the constituency.

The youth buy into my message a lot.

One thing worth noting is that the youth had always needed somebody who would lead the pack.

One who would sacrifice self for the work, and since we started, we’ve always had youth support us.

More of them continue to flood in, and we believe that they will be the deciding factors on December 7.”

Mr. Klutse was accompanied to the EC Office by the heads of his campaign teams, and some members of his family and supporters.

“We did it quietly. It’s a solemn thing to do.

We are not about loud clamour, but we want to make sure that the results speak for themselves and then come December 7th we will see a new change,” he said.
