Functional Sports League Ghana (FSLG) is set to host a two-day National Championship dubbed Iron Forge to test capacities of athletes across a broad range of physical abilities.
The event, scheduled for 23rd to 24th November 2024 would see athletes drawn from seven regions, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Western, and Eastern Regions to compete in a challenging battle.
The Zulka Astroturf Park and the Idrowhyt Event Centre Akokofoto at Dansoman would be the centre of attraction for the two-day event.
Mr. Charles Owusu-Ansah, President Functional Sports League Ghana in an interview with the GNA Sports revealed that athletes would be required to go through the six test routines which would demonstrate the full spectrum of functional fitness.
He said this inaugural event would be a chance for athletes to exhibit their talents.
“Iron Forge is a chance to witness the dedication and passion of our local fitness community.
Whether you are a seasoned athlete, a fitness enthusiast, or simply looking for a day of entertainment, we at Functional Sports League Ghana invite you to join us for this amazing and exciting event”, He urged.
FSLG, an affiliate of the International Functional Federation seeks to promote national pursuit of an active and positive lifestyle change through functional fitness, nutrition, and mental health for people of all ages.
Since its launch in November 2023, the federation had made strides in creating awareness across all 16 regions of Ghana.
