According to reports, LIONEL MESSI will win the Ballon d’Or for the seventh time later today.

And, as is customary, the Argentine has already been informed of his victory by the tournament’s organizers, France Football.

Every year, the winner or their agent is contacted by editor-in-chief Pascal Ferré, who informs them of their success and briefs them on the ceremony’s formalities.

According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, Messi has already heard the good news.

“Messi, his buddies already know,” Moretto tweeted in response to a fan’s assertion that France Football had misled about the winner of the Ballon d’Or.

Messi, 34, already has six Ballon d’Or titles under his belt, and a win this year would put him two ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

In 2021, rumors suggested a new name on the trophy, with Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski a strong contender.

In 2021, the striker has scored 64 goals, but it appears that he has been overshadowed by Lionel Messi, who has only scored four goals since joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Along with Euro 2020 and Champions League winner Jorginho, Ronaldo was a strong contender for the award.

It would be “abnormal,” according to Italy manager Roberto Mancini, if Jorginho was not named the winner.

Messi, on the other hand, won his first international trophy this year, with Argentina winning the Copa America last summer.

Last season, he also won the Copa Del Rey and scored 30 league goals, demonstrating that he is still a top player.
