Additionally, Bortier is accused of unlawfully entering the premises of Madam Helix Amoakowaa and causing damage to two door padlocks valued at GH₵200.00. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry, and stealing.

During the proceedings at the Court presided over by Mr. Samuel Bright Acquah, the accused person was remanded into police custody and is scheduled to reappear on July 24, 2023.

According to Police Chief Inspector Ramata Asumah, the complainant, Madam Helix Amoakowaa, is a hairdresser residing in Nungua, while the accused person also resides in the Nungua township. On June 26, 2023, at approximately 3:30 am, the complainant discovered that her room had been burgled and various items, including the makeup box and its contents, were missing. She promptly reported the incident to the Nima Police Station.

Detective Sergeant Simon Migida, who was investigating a separate stealing case at the Nungua Divisional CID, arrested the accused person on June 31, 2023. A subsequent search of Bortier’s room at Nungua Manheim led to the recovery of numerous items, including the complainant’s makeup box and its contents, which were suspected to have been stolen. The complainant later identified the makeup box and its contents as hers at the police station. The accused person was subsequently re-arrested.

With the accused person now remanded into police custody, further investigations will be conducted to determine the outcome of the case.
