The head office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with its municipal office in Ahanta West has organised a movie night at Akwidaa, a suburb of the of Ahanta West, to educate the public on effects of electoral violence.

The movie sought to picture the effects and struggles of violence during elections in other African countries.

It also revealed some needless deaths and severe injuries of people during such chaotic situations.

Mr. Clifford Thompson, the Director of Media at the NCCE headquarters, urged the people of Akwidaa to avoid being used as an instrument to disrupt the peace and stability of the country.

He also added that, these happenings in other countries should be used as a reminder of how bad behaviours and actions during the upcoming elections could destroy the lives of both young and old.

Mrs. Faustina Koranteng, the Municipal Director of NCCE, Ahanta West, added that, the upcoming elections was not meant to be bloody or violent.

She said: ” As citizens of our beloved country Ghana, there is an imperative need for us to prepare ourselves effectively against the threats.”
