A nurse at the 37 Military hospital, Rosemary Asamoah, has recounted how the strike by drivers affected her from going to perform her clinicals on time.

The Coalition of Commercial Transport Operators started their strike today, Monday December 6 to protest the high cost of fuel in the country.

Scores of frustrated passengers were seen standing on the pavement at Lapaz as they waited for vehicles to pick them to their various destinations.

Some Commercial drivers who complied with the decision to strike were seen with canes hitting other buses who had loaded passengers and failed to heed the call to strike, forcing all of them to step down from the vehicles.

Speaking to TV3, Rosemary Asamoah said “I am going to the 37 Military hospital and I have been at the bus stop for an hour now. We are not getting car, the drivers say they won’t go because of increment of the fuel prices so they are not working today.

“We are starting our clinicals today and we are supposed to report at 7, we got here around 6 and till now we have not gotten a car yet so we are waiting.

” If we don’t get we don’t have any other option than to go back home because we have been standing here for a while now.”
