Opoku-Agyemang to embark on a day’s tour of markets in Accra

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will on Thursday, August 15, embark on a day’s tour of three main markets in Accra in the Greater Accra Region.


A statement issued by Mr James Agyenim-Boateng, the Spokesman of the NDC Running Mate, copied to the Ghana News Agency said Prof Opoku-Agyemang would be visiting the Mallam Atta, Kaneshie and Makola Markets to interact with market women, traders, shop attendants, shoppers, kayayei, commercial drivers and passengers.


It said during the tour, Prof Opoku-Agyemang would explain the NDC’s women’s financial empowerment policies and plans, including the proposed establishment of Women’s Development Bank.


The statement noted that about one million women in business, including food vendors, market women, bakers, hairdressers and dressmakers were expected to benefit from access to loans with flexible payment terms.
