Police Officer Interdicted After Viral Video Shows Suspect Dragging Incident

In response to a viral video capturing a disturbing incident, the Police have taken decisive action, interdicting an officer seen dragging a suspect on the floor during an arrest at Dadease, near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region. The video prompted swift investigation by the Police, who have detained the officer and ensured he will undergo due process of the law.

Following the incident, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, personally intervened by dispatching a team from the Ashanti North Regional Police Command to engage with the victim’s family. Additionally, he reached out to the victim’s mother, assuring her of a thorough investigation into the matter.

The interdiction and investigation demonstrate the Police’s commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in addressing any alleged misconduct within their ranks. As the investigation continues, public scrutiny remains high, demanding a just and fair resolution to the incident that has sparked widespread concern.
