A total of 465 voters are expected to cast their ballots in the special voting exercise, which is progressing steadily in the Takoradi Constituency.

When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the polling centre, it observed that voting started at exactly 0700 hours with the agents of the various political parties and security officers present.

The exercise was originally slated for Monday, December 2, 2024 but had to be rescheduled for the Western and Eastern regions following the recall and reprinting of ballot papers for the two regions.

As at 0820 hours, about 100 voters had cast their ballots, while others waited patiently in queues for their turn.

Mr Bernard Gyebi Wiredu, the Presiding Officer, told journalists that the process was progressing smoothly devoid of any challenge.

“As you can see, we have been able to process all those who have gone through smoothly and timely without hitches, and we hope that it will continue this way till the end of polls,” he said.

He was hopeful for a good turnout at the end of polls at 1700 hours.
