Commercial vehicle drivers, known as ‘trotro,’ and their conductors, known as’mates,’ have turned the Ashiaman bus station into a football field in an unusual turn of events.

The Coalition of Commercial Transport Owners’ drivers have stopped their services until the government eliminates various fuel taxes, allowing for lower prices at the pump.

No commercial vehicles are permitted to work at Ashaiman, according to JoyNews’ Maame Esi Thompson, while some people are ignoring the rules in other places.

Defiant drivers are compelled to alight their passengers or risk having their vehicles immobilised.

This has left the many commuters who use their services to commute to their various destinations stranded.
