A tragic incident occurred in Kintampo, a town in the Bono-East region of Ghana, where flood waters claimed the life of a six-year-old child and left a four-year-old girl missing. The incident happened after heavy rains caused an overflowing river, sweeping away the tricycle the six-year-old was traveling in. Despite efforts to rescue her, she tragically lost her life. The search for the missing four-year-old is ongoing, and personnel from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) are tirelessly working to find her. The area’s NADMO Director advised residents to exercise caution and avoid living near the river bank to prevent similar incidents in the future. This incident adds to the growing number of deaths caused by floods in the country in recent months.
