AC Milan want to sign Manchester City star Raheem Sterling should a mega-money takeover go through.

The Italian giants are on the verge of being bought by Bahrain-domiciled asset manager Investcorp.

And when that deal is complete, they will have the finances to go after a whole host of European stars.

Gazzetta dello Sport say Sterling, 27, is one of the players they want to try and tempt to the San Siro.

Despite playing 40 times for the Premier League champions this term, there are murmurs that the winger may leave the Etihad this summer.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have previously been tipped to make a move City were to sell their man.

But whether or not the England international wants to move to Serie A is another question entirely.

He is also far from the only name on Milan’s long list of players as they look to strengthen for another crack at next season’s Champions League.

The Mail say that Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Newcastle target Sven Botman are already in advanced talks with the Serie A leaders.

Added to that are Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio and Isco, free-scoring Ajax striker Sebastien Haller and RB Leipzig’s man of the moment Christopher Nkunku.

The Manchester Evening News report that Manchester United will once again look at signing Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres this summer.

Chelsea’s Jorginho is unlikely to be offered a contract extension and Lazio, Juventus and AC Milan are all interested in a deal for the Italian midfielder, say 90min.

The Telegraph report that with Darwin Nunez set to move to a club in the Champions League, Newcastle will turn their attention to Brentford’s Ivan Toney after selling him to Peterborough less than four years ago.
