Volta Regional vetting committee shortlists 54 candidates for MDCE positions

The Volta Regional Vetting Committee has successfully shortlisted and recommended 54 individuals for the positions of Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) across the region’s 18 Municipal and District Assemblies (MDAs).

   
The shortlisted candidates consisted of three individuals from each Assembly, comprising of nine women and 45 men.

   
In a press statement dated January 31 and signed by the Acting Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Bright Kwashie Ege, the party announced the completion of the vetting process. 

  
“We are pleased to announce that the vetting committee has completed a thorough assessment of all applicants,” Mr Ege stated.

   
He further explained that after a rigorous evaluation, the Committee had recommended three outstanding candidates per constituency for consideration for the MDCE positions. 

  
The shortlisted individuals would undergo further scrutiny before His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, selects one candidate per Assembly for appointment as a Municipal or District Chief Executive. 

  
The Committee extended its congratulations to the shortlisted candidates, wishing them success in the next stage of the selection process. 

  
The week-long vetting process began on Tuesday, January 21, with applicants from Hohoe, Kpando, and Afadzato South and concluded on Tuesday, January 28, with Anlo, Keta, and Akatsi North.

  
A total of 237 applicants made up of 30 women and 207 men were vetted.
