Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is urging Ghanaians to vote for him and his party, emphasising his vision for a prosperous and dignified country.

He said his administration’s main focus would be investing in human capital development, building on the country’s digitalisation drive to address systemic challenges, and creating opportunities for all Ghanaians for inclusive prosperity.

Addressing a rally at Aflao during his campaign visit to the Volta Region, Dr Bawumia urged the citizenry not to pay heed to naysayers saying, the promises of agricultural mechanisation centres in every district for farmers, solar-powered new outboard motors for fishers, and free university and training college education for persons with disability among others were possible with the NPP, “a party of possibilities.”

He highlighted his journey to becoming the leader of the NPP, despite many doubting his chance in the race based on his tribe and religion, and the introduction and implementation of policies and programmes of the current government such as the Free Senior High School, Agenda 111, Ghana Card, Mobile Money Interoperability and Medical Drones, discounted as not possible but which were realised.

“We are a party of possibilities. When you vote for me to become President, we’re going to bring you more policies.

We’re going to take care of the farmers and the fishermen… And we’re going to bring the electricity prices we’re facing now, down.”

Dr Bawumia also said under his administration, a person with Ghana card would only be required to pay his/her fees, and not fill a passport form to get his passport.

“We’re going to make sure we bring new policies that will really affect everybody,” he promised.

The NPP leader thus, asked Ghanaians to vote for him as their “brand new tear-rubber President and not former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress seeking a comeback.

Mr Makafui Kofi Woanyah, Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP said the December 7 Presidential election would be between one who had been there and a new person in the market and also, one without any policy and another with 33 policies, urging the people to choose Dr Bawumia as he “represents the future and the development of the youth.”

Ms Adzo Apedo (known as Area Mama), an attendee spoke to Ghana News Agency asking the people of Ketu South, Volta Region, and Ghana not to entertain any doubts about the future Dr Bawumia-led government.

“We have seen promises made in 2016 and 2020 come to pass why doubt the 2024 ones? I entreat everyone to go out, come December 7 and vote for the NPP for better and improved life.”
