Mr. George Kitingyaab Bingrini, the Saboba District Chief Executive in the Northern Region, lauded World Vision Ghana, an international NGO, for its significant role in promoting sustainable development in the area. He commended the organization for being a strong advocate for children’s rights and protection and highlighted that over 5,000 children in the district were enrolled in the sponsorship program, granting them access to quality education, healthcare, and nutrition.

The community durbar at Saboba marked the conclusion of World Vision Ghana’s Saboba Area Programme after 20 years of operations in the region. The event, themed “Celebrating 20 Years of God’s Goodness in Saboba Area Programme,” brought together stakeholders and beneficiary communities, including Ngnamdo, Nachanyini, Kuchachabuni, Garimata, Kpeegu, Sambuli, and Lifur, among others, to assess the impact of World Vision Ghana’s efforts over the years.

Miss Laura Cristina DelValle, National Director of World Vision Ghana, expressed the organization’s commitment to promoting the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable groups, especially children, families, and communities. Over the past two decades, World Vision Ghana invested US$9.9 million in various initiatives, such as water, sanitation, and hygiene projects, livelihood support, child sponsorship, child protection, and advocacy. The organization installed 105 boreholes serving 31,500 people and set up 12 limited mechanized water systems benefiting an additional 14,400 individuals in the area.

Miss DelValle urged all stakeholders to continue supporting and coordinating efforts to sustain the gains achieved over the years, especially through strengthening community-level groups. The implementation of various interventions, including skills training, income-generating activities, and the savings for transformation initiative, contributed to uplifting families and enhancing their economic resilience.

Madam Ebundo Titokibi, a beneficiary of the savings for transformation initiative, shared how the program had positively impacted her family’s economic situation, providing access to education and healthcare.

In recognition of World Vision Ghana’s immense contributions to the district’s overall development, Mr. Bingrini presented the organization with a citation of appreciation.
