Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempah, the Minister of Energy, has stated that the administration will increase power producing capacity.
In order to increase grid stability, he also stated that the administration will locate electricity generation in the middle and northern sectors.
These were said by Dr. Opoku Prempeh at a press conference held in Accra on Wednesday, April 13.
“We’ve put steps in place to prevent petroleum product scarcity while also ensuring price stability,” he continued.
He spoke highly of Ghanaian participation in the petroleum sector.
Petroleum (Local Content and Local Participation) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021. (L.I. 2435) has been passed to include channel
partnerships and strategic alliances in the petroleum upstream sector.
“Draft Regulation for Ghanaian Content and Ghanaian Participation for the downstream sector under review. Legislative Instrument (LI 2354) on Local Content and Local Participation in the Electricity Supply Industry was also passed in 2017.”
